Auschwitz concentration camp has been voted as the most looking forward highlight of the trips by most of the travelers in the bus. Honestly, I had no much idea about that term until I was there. It was indeed an eye opening visit for me. Although world war 2 was happened before Malaysia was formed and no direct relation to me or my ancestors, but I feel deep sorrow for all the Jewish victims.
I was really amazed by how complete everything is preserved (although some are destroyed by the Nazis after losing in WWII.) and how detail the explanation is. That is how we learnt about history, the painful way.
There is screening and checking before the entrance, big sized handbag and backpack a'int allowed in the site.
ZYKLON B used in the gas camber, one can is enough to kill hundreds.
I felt so eerie seeing all the electric wires.
the gas chamber, holes on the top and there is no window.
used for bodies combustion, placed right after next to the gas chamber.
Ppl were standing here and gun shot in their head.
We next head to another concentration camp at the other side.
some are destroyed after the WWII and left only pillars.
another destroyed gas chambers.
Ppl are imprisoned and abandoned in this house. They are not given medical treatment, food and anything.
I feel the fear, anguish and anxious of being caught or confined here. I just hoped that world war, racism and any kind of discrimination will never ever happen again. But see what is happening in Malaysia today? it is aching and saddening.
