Cinque Terre when you're in Florence!
We took the earliest train in the morning and last train in the evening to go back to Florence. Change station at La Spezia and catch another train to our first station, Riomaggiore. There is no direct train to Riomaggiore. It is kinda impossible to visit every fishing villages in a day so we only visit 3 villages. Make sure you wear a good pair of hiking shoes and be prepared to sweat.
Some Mochi ice cream at the random eatery at train station and it was so good, the best I ever had.
went to visit the tourist information center to get a map and some brief detail. We hiked for around an hour from the first fishing village, Riomaggiore to the second, Manarola and took a train straight to the fifth, Monterosso.
the path of love is closed for maintenance.
this is the steepest path, I swear this ain't easy at all. I regret I didn't have proper workout to prepare myself. Again, this is no kidding. No more in my life.
Resting in the shade.
reaching the town of Manarola at noon.
Bring along extra clothes or swim wear, you won't wanna miss it like I did.
Lunch was at Il Porticciolo, pretty easy to find as there is only one street and the crowd will lead you there.
Aircond is very much needed and seafood when you're at the fishing village.
Next and the last stop, Monterosso. It is like the capital fishing village among the other 4.
Hiding in the shade and eating my ice cream because it is 38 degree out there.
Cinque terre has really beautiful sea, mountain and of course great seafood. It is a bit sad that I didn't manage to visit the most scenic Vernazza. Blogging about this reminds me all those sweet travelling memory.
